About

My sweet pit-bull, terrier mix EmmaHere is where I’m supposed to say lots of interesting and clever things about myself.

But why lie.

I am not interesting and I’m only slightly clever for about 4 seconds around 10:30 AM after I’ve chugged 2.3 cups of coffee.  Then I’m back to my normal self, sitting at my desk thinking about why I forgot to pack my lunch for work AGAIN,  why the Paper Monster keeps vomiting in my cubicle, and how on earth will I find an intern to make a decent pot of coffee.

Anyway.

You’ll see my dog Emma above.   Read this to get a good feel for her.  She brings me much joy even though she and I flunked obedience school together.

I get lots of reactions to this blog but here are my favorites:

“I didn’t know you could write!” ~ the coworker who for two years has been editing all of my documents.

And someone once asked a friend, “Is she this funny in real life?”

That’s when I knew you could be a totally different person on the Internet.

Amen.

  • Love, love, love your blog. :)

  • You are so funny. I love the way that you turn the norm into laughter. To be able to laugh at yourself and just life in general will help you thru the tough times.

  • What tough times? Am I talking to myself here!

  • Hello,

My name is Becca and I work with Compassion International. I was doing some research recently and I came across your site, http://stand-therefore.com/ and have really enjoyed reading your blog posts about life, love and happiness. Congratulations on getting recently married, I too was recently married, isn’t it a crazy adventure?

Also, I wanted to thank you for including Compassion into your “I’m Reading” section of your site. This is a terrific way to help spread the word about Compassion and encourage others to help children living in poverty.

I have a small favor to ask regarding your link to Compassion. Do you think it would be possible to update the words “Compassion International” to “Compassion International :: Sponsor a Child” The words “Compassion International” would stay linked to “http://www.compassion.com” and the words “Sponsor a Child” would be linked to http://www.compassion.com/sponsor_a_child/default.htm.

This will help explain to your site’s visitors what it is that Compassion does and what they will find at Compassion’s website if they choose to click on the link. I know this seems like a very specific detail but it really can make a difference. It provides just a little bit more information that will hopefully encourage people to help children in need.

If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me.

    May God richly bless you,

    Becca Brickey
